About Me

I still feel nervous every time I teach, although I’ve taught for hundreds of hours now. I often wonder why I’ve chosen this role, where I have to speak in front of classes - until the class starts.

I worry before class, about whether anyone will come, whether I will remember the words or which side is left/right (yes, really). And every time, when the class begins, I remember that I didn’t need to worry at all, because it’s not about me, it’s about yoga.

Yoga has been my support through the hardest times in my life and I am lucky enough to be able to share it with other people. For me, yoga is about finding balance - particularly when life is busy. I believe that finding what works for our bodies is an individual journey, and listening to ourselves is more important than the shape we make in any posture.

I qualified as a yoga teacher (500hr) with Devon School of Yoga in 2022 , and have undertaken further training in pregnancy and postnatal yoga with Birthwise and DSY. I qualified as a Doula in 2010 with Birthing Wisdom, and I have also worked within the fields of addiction and trauma and I am currently training as a Yoga Therapist.

I run weekly yoga classes, pregnancy yoga, seasonal Retreat Days and monthly Women’s Circles in Newton Abbot.

When I’m not on the yoga mat, I love spending time in the sea and on the moor. I have four amazing children, I love good food and great stories, and my home is my happy place.
